I'm 5ft 6in, 135lbs and I'm athletic. I usually run small for higher quality shirts (soft cotton blends) and medium for cheap shirts (chunky cotton). I ordered the medium and it fits me comfortably but not tight (it hugs the figure). Definitely good as a tank top and for wearing comfortably for long periods of time, probably wouldn't wear it as a sole shirt unless I'm working out or doing housework. Usually when I order from Under Armor I order a small for a very snug, leathery fit and a medium for a more comfortable fit, but it still hugs me. Both sit like gloves on my body. The quality of the shirt is excellent and the white version is true white. Tl;DR: Order your size for a second skin, order one size up for comfort, like a fitted top.
