This is a great filter but it needs some modifications. I would like to see another version with these settings. I think real enthusiasts will find it more attractive. It's still a good box filter. First, as you can see in my picture, I cut out the sides and pasted a very rough sponge on the sides. I have a lot of aquarium filter media and have a few things lying around that I could cut to size. I'd like to see a version that has enough room for the sponge itself and additional side sponges (a bit rougher than the one on the inside and pretty cute sponges included inside as is). Sponge filters are becoming increasingly popular, especially in aquariums with shrimp etc. This modification gives the best of both box and sponge filters, with a fluidized bed loading system.
