This harness took the worries out of my family trip across the country. My dog is like a baby to me, so I wanted to protect him as best I could while we drove 4,600 miles round trip. In the event of an accident, I needed something to keep her in the back seat. I'm very glad I stumbled across this seat belt. Now we use it all the time I take her to the car. That protects her. However, you will need to check on your dog from time to time as mine could constantly wrap itself around his leg from walking from one window to the other turning in different directions. Just make sure it doesn't wrap around your dog's leg. You can easily adjust the length of the harness to give your dog more or less freedom in the back seat depending on what else you have in the seat. The buckle fits my 2006 Toyota Prius seat belt perfectly and releases easily. I'm very happy I have it now and use it every time I take my dog on a trip.
