Works great

Packaging: The lock was carefully packed, including the lock itself, a short instruction manual and a minimum of packaging. No marketing materials or other stuff just taking up space in my shopping cart. The only negative note was that the plastic insert was not marked with a recycling number. Construction: durable. Others have complained about the build quality but this is one of the best locks I've seen and I've seen quite a few. The cable spool is covered with a thick layer of nylon for longer life. The digital dials move smoothly and click clearly with each indentation. The lock button is a large piece of metal that's easy to press and has great feedback. The reset tool is permanently attached to the locking loop so you don't lose it. Lock installation: easy. So easy that I had to double check my work. People were very critical of this process and I suspect Kensington revised the user manual. If you take the trouble to read the instructions, you can't go wrong installing this lock. Really. Ease of use: Again very simple. If you follow the instructions, you can't go wrong. It's a two-handed process until you've practiced, so put the latte aside. Actually, the big size is good. I want my lock to deter a would-be thief and not force him (or her) to wreak havoc and destruction and try to escape the store with it. I want the thief to take a look and just move on and look for easier prey. This big ugly thing sticks out so much that it's almost impossible to miss. Also, I want it to remind ME that I've locked my computer, so don't knock everything off the table when I'm cleaning my computer. Conclusion: Great product at a great price. It's close enough to ideal to get an enthusiastic thumbs up.
