Review on Qooltek ST-NET Ethernet Surge Protector with PoE+ Gigabit Modem Thunder & Lightning Protection - ST-RJ45 by Rafael Gomez

Corresponds to the declared manufacturer!

I bought a couple of these on a whim to test them out. They seem to work just as well as the manufacturer claims. We had a storm last night and a customer called me and said he didn't have wifi. In this particular setup, this surge protector was installed between the PoE injector and the EdgeRouter X. There were no LEDs on the ERX so I replaced the surge protector and, voila! His network was back up within a minute or two of my arrival at the crime scene. The cable modem at this location was damaged by lightning, so he has to wait for his ISP to replace it before he can access the Internet again. I usually advise customers to get their own modem, but this is where lightning strikes often, so it's actually more profitable for him to rent a cable modem from them and have it replaced 2 or 3 times a year when it fails. striked by Thunderbolt. Lightning at this location usually only affects the cable modem and anything directly connected to it, which tells me the alarm current is entering the house through the coax cable connection. Apparently, ISPs don't care enough about installing proper lightning protection on their devices.
