Review on ASUS Touchscreen Computer_ Quad Core I7 7500U by Mike Meyers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I don't like the keyboard

The metal-gray flat keys are very difficult to read during the day! Ironically, a backlit keyboard is easier to read at night than during the day. The keys are gray and flat, and the key lettering is transparent to let the backlight through. During the day it is very difficult to read the inscriptions. Even if you turn on the backlight to the maximum. You can see the letters better at night. I wish the keys were regular black slightly raised keys. The matt gray industrial look is just not practical for me. Enough of it. What do I not like yet? There are no left and right buttons on the trackpad. All you get is a completely flat keyboard. Good luck with a precise right click or click and drag. Instead, I had to use a USB mouse. My other laptops have right and left mouse buttons. It doesn't work and suffers as a result. The touchscreen seems to work well enough. A touchscreen computer is a new experience for me, so it's hard for me to break the habit of using the mouse pointer. Although this computer comes with a stylus, the stylus in no way looks like it was designed for this machine. There is nowhere to put the pen or otherwise attach it for easy portability. Maybe that's why they make it bright red so it's easier to spot if you lose it. My phone pulls in my pen well and even gives me an alert when the phone is too far away from it. Couldn't Asus have done something similar with Notepad? Otherwise it looks like a decent trip computer. It's not as light as a Chromebook, but lighter than most other Windows laptops. And the flipscreen A=Frame is useful. Probably its best feature, especially for airplane flights. The speakers could have been louder. But they're not bad enough to deduct points. Everything else about this laptop is satisfactory. So I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. If you know of a comparable alternative, please let me know.
