Review on Ford Triton Spark Repair TIME SERT by Michael Boyce

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy for average mechanical ability

I've done a lot more difficult jobs than this and I've never worked in a garage (only on my cars). This kit is not cheap compared to the helicopter. coil, but it's much better and much cheaper than a new head. I recommend taking an endoscope with you if you leave the heads on the car for repairs. I thought I had all the chips out of the cylinder, but the endoscope told me otherwise. I also suggest making or buying a remote start (used by mechanics for diagnostics) so you can find top dead center yourself. I made one using a switch, wire and some alligator clips. This allows you to crank the engine without starting it. Finally, if you are doing this on a Triton that has deep spark plug holes due to the coil packs, then get a length of fuel line that you can thread through the spark plug hole and into the spark plug threads. This is the easiest way to check top dead center (along with remote start), making this a one man job. This was my first time doing this and it took about 3 hours on my 99 Ford F350 V10 (6.8L). I am very happy with this kit!
