Review on ๐ŸŽฏ Enhance Precision and Efficiency with Kreg KMS7800 Solid Production Stop by Trey Ali

Great project for multiple cuts - note the stop size

I've been using a Kreg Swing Stop for a while. This is a great product and the ability to remove the stop on the side proved to be a lot more useful than I expected. However, as other reviewers point out, it has very little to play with. If you cut to any fixed size you can slide all the pieces in one at a time and slide the gap out of the fence, but unless you've lined up the tape measure carefully you can't be sure the fence will fit exactly where the indicator says on the band is. Still an excellent product. I ordered the production to be stopped to avoid a performance. It definitely has no game. It's like a stone. If you apply the tape measure very carefully, then stop plus tape measure is even - jokingly, not exactly, and there is no play. Now if you want to remove the stop, say flatten the end, you're out of luck, you'll have to move the stop, which means you have to reset the measurement. Also note that the production stop only fits on the "top rail" - it doesn't use a T-bolt like the rotary stop. Rather, it is placed on the caterpillar and tightened with a screw. The top rail mates with the production fence and also has a T-rail so you can use both the swing fence and the production fence with the same guide. Also note that the top track will only sit on top of a 3/4" fence (e.g. a piece of MDF mounted on edge), while a regular T-stud track can be bolted to the top of a wider fence. Finally, you have to be VERY careful that the fence is exactly 3/4" wide. MDF is exactly 3/4" wide, but most plywood is thinner (e.g. 11/16"). This is a problem, since the fence has a surface that should be 3/4" above the railing, and that surface is exactly 3/4". If your plywood fence is a little thin, the bottom of the stop will form an edge and your material will not lie flat on the fence (the edge at the top is not flush with the surface of the fence) All of this is easy to do, adjusted, and it's a great product.
