Cut off what you need plus a little more, cut off a piece of the bag, seal one end, fill the bag as much as you like but leaving enough room to to close the bag easily flatten it before vacuuming and sealing. These bags are particularly good because they have mesh with small grooves that help pull air faster and more efficiently than other "smooth" vacuum bags. These bags are also reusable so cut them up a bit and then wash the little bugs and reuse them which is really inexpensive. They seal very well and are durable. I will buy more from this brand if I need more in the future. Very satisfied.
