Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP - Enhanced Bicycle Trunk Bag with Sturdy Molded Panels by Redfish Rosenhoover

Should only be used for road cycling, not for mountain biking!

First off, Topeak products are generally exceptional. I wanted the Tetra M2 combo carrier and this bag to work well on my full suspension bike. Installation: When installing the stand, I was a little disappointed with the difficulty of the installation. You need to loosen 6 screws and adjust to the bike. You have to buckle the straps around the frame, and here came the frustration: The rubber bushings that go between the frame and the uprights kept falling out when I tried to align the uprights with the frame. Once everything is aligned, tighten all the screws, including the strap screws, which help secure the stand even more firmly than Velcro. After the rack was attached, I noticed that the rack still wobbled a bit, not because it was loose, but because the design of the rack frame is so complicated. Usage: I recently took a trip to Utah and buckled up my Topeak. Bag on the rack, a water bottle, some tools and my drone. Still concerned about trunk movement, this is now even more apparent when the MTX TRUNKBAG EX is attached. So I started rolling, immediately I went over the rock and clank clank, the movement of tools and stuff in the bag was loud. I was worried about my drone so I added a light windbreaker to my bag to keep things in place. Needless to say, it didn't help at all. After about 20 minutes I kept thinking that I should go back and take this thing off, I was very worried about the items in the bag and even lost the water bottle that was on the back of the TrunkBag. What a joke. The top photo of this rack on Topeaks shows a guy up in the mountains on a mountain bike with rocks and stuff all around. After 40 minutes the last straw hit the camels. One of the straps for the suitcase came loose (even though it was tight). I almost lost that damn rubber bat, had to make my way back to find it on the trail. I put everything back on and immediately flew back to camp to it remove everything.
