I was prompted to write a review by a sudden collision with the M510 in the window - I was surprised that it was back on sale (although, did it leave?). In 2022, I gave a little more than a thousand for it, this, in fact, was the reason for the purchase (the cheapest large mouse from a well-known brand). Over the past years, she has worked off every penny, but if you forget that things are not always eternal, then her "slow fading" is, of course, frustrating. Now, 8 years later, for the first time I feel serious discomfort from work, when all the problems described in the shortcomings appear together, although with all this you can still use the mouse in simple tasks, for example, as a remote control for a media set-top box. Judging by the low rating on Ya. Market, the reliability of the lottery, so I would not buy it a second time, although I myself was satisfied, and the price (official 2800 at the time of writing) allows us to consider competitors.
- 1. Size and ergonomics - fits well in a large palm, buttons are in place, suitable for both hands; 2. Functionality - 4 buttons and push tilt wheel for horizontal scrolling; 3. Operation from standard removable batteries - AA batteries (and it "starts" even from one); 4. Relative reliability (see shortcomings and comments) - I have been using it for almost 8 years as the main one almost daily; 5. Good quality materials - the elastic bands on the sides wear off, but I still have them matte, and the metallic-painted plastic of the upper part resists the appearance of a glossy sheen well (i. E. it ages and glosses evenly if you do not put a new mouse next to it , then the old one does not look worn).
- 1. Very demanding on surfaces - according to my observations, it works ideally only on fabric and some types of matte rough tables. This despite the fact that the mouse is not something that would be particularly high-speed. The sensor itself also tends to get clogged with dust (unpredictably) - from this, the speed is lost even more, you have to resort to cleaning with a cotton swab with alcohol; 2. Relative unreliability. Everything is complicated here - for the first 4 years the mouse worked perfectly (not counting the removal of the brain according to point 1), which created the illusion that it would work forever. Somewhere in the third or fourth year of life, something was covered in the button for pressing the wheel - well, as it was covered, everything works (disassembly shows that all the elements are working separately), but only with certain features (i. E. you need to press the wheel at the right angle, which is inconvenient to do, or just poke many times until you accidentally hit - as a result, over time, you simply stop using this function, if possible). In the sixth year of life, the first double clicks of the left button went, in the seventh year they intensified, but you can still work. Also in the sixth year, the first "dumps" of batteries went: they somehow lose contact, physically shifting inside the case - you have to shake the mouse and flip the switch, usually this helps the first time.
