This is my second purchase as I bought two 3 gallon water tanks so I figured I would need more. It definitely works. I have two alkaline testers at home: pH strips and drops. They actually run faster than the expected 20-minute time. I bought water that was more acidic than usual (ph 5 versus ph 6) and used it to increase alkalinity. This only worked when acidic water was used to clean the sticks. Also, 3 sticks alkalized 3 gallons of water instead of the expected 2 sticks at 64 ounces. I just let her stay longer. The maximum alkalinity is 8 or 9.
