I'm not sure who Merrell is developing them for, but it's definitely not the original market. They're far from a minimalist shoe, and this generation doesn't even feel like a zero fall (I know, but it just doesn't feel like it on the foot). The toe box is very narrow and the construction questionable at best. I've had 3, 4, 5 and now 6 and the stitches are getting a little worse from generation to generation, 4 maybe better but just didn't hold up for me. If you are looking for a shoe with a minimalist style, there is definitely a top brand at competitive prices.
