I love using Seventh Generation products in my home! I know this company genuinely cares about the health and safety of our families, the environment and the world. The only difference I can see between this detergent and the mainstream dishwashing detergent brand is that if I use the seventh generation I'm not worried that it has less toxic ingredients. Every seventh-gen product I've tried performs as well (if not better) than the competition, and dishwashing liquid is no exception. My dishes are sparkling clean and leave no marks. I hate any kind of residue on my dishes, so if I find a detergent that doesn't, I'm a fan for life. I always add a squirt of white vinegar to every load of dishes, but even when I've done it with other brands, there's still some soap residue. Not with the seventh generation. My dishes look hand washed every time!
