Lucky for me I have a handy set of 8 jeweler's screwdrivers of various points. Since this battery doesn't come with good instructions I highly recommend there are a couple of good video instructions on Youu tuube . One screw in the handle and two on the bottom that are hard to spot. Leave that red thing alone, it has nothing to do with battery change. It's part of the dumping system.I installed mine in less than two minutes by using the video I found. Be careful and don't drop the screws!I can't comment yet on battery life. The original one from Dyson lasted over two years of weekly use. But it is weak as kitten now and shuts off way early. You'll love having fresh energy a new battery provides.
