It works as intended, especially the delay feature.

Actually works as intended. I would think of this primarily as a delay mechanism after a power failure rather than surge protection. Device in progress. I had a 30 second and it did the job. There are times when the device turns off and on multiple times until it stays on. This will prevent the connected device or any other device from receiving power again during the 3 minute delay time. I believe most power surges occur when they are on. enabled after shutdown. So this delay time is a good idea. I connected this item to our "Hi-Tech" washing machine and it worked in a delayed start for a period of the delay. Personally I wouldn't use it for a fridge as most of the time you can't tell if the unit is working properly because it sits behind the fridge. If the device breaks down on its own, as some reviews have mentioned, the contents of the fridge may be lost. It wouldn't be good and not worth the risk. In this case, only high-quality overvoltage protection works better, since it does not switch off the power in the event of a fault, only the protection is gone. My surge protector has been working great for about 10 years now. Weeks in the washing machine, but we'll have to see in the long term. After all, these devices must have a long service life so that the installation is worthwhile. But so far so good. Also, I have a whole house surge protector,
