Do not use if the tap water is as hard as mine. After the clear 75 gallon tank was used to adjust the pH to 8.0, it turned into a cloudy, milky mass. I waited for the canister and HOB filter to empty but it didn't work. I had to do a 75 percent water change which cleared things up but it wasn't enough so the next day I did a 25 percent water change with Seachem Prime. At that time I was refilling my new tank so there were no fish in it but I had live plants that I was concerned about. Also, when the heater was running for the tank cycle, a large buildup formed around the heater, which then spread throughout the body when I took it off to clean. It was frustrating spending a week with the bike in my tank only to have to start over. I've learned that pH decreases over time and that fish normally adapt to the pH of the water.
