Bought two of these for surface pro 4 dock to work with dual monitors. Works perfectly. A few tips: You'll need to update your dock's firmware before these ports will work. This means you must run either Windows Update or the Dock Firmware Updater while connected to the dock. Any of them will get the job done. After the update, the trick is to DISCONNECT the dock from the Surface, then look at the Ethernet port on the back of the dock. Watch for a tiny flash of green light for a while. When it stops, the firmware will be updated. This helps when there is no ethernet cable in the port. Now you can work with connectors. Another thing is you may notice blurry screen. It's not ports, it's Windows trying to scale different resolutions on your screens. Making one of the external monitors the 'primary' display fixes this, although it can affect the screen on the Surface when docked. I usually turn off the Surface screen when it's docked. Also, sometimes it's better to log out of Windows and back out of Windows when you've just connected or disconnected from the dock. It remembers your display settings and boosts your Surface display or external displays accordingly.
