NOT FOR PEOPLE with ARTHRITIS or other weaknesses in the hands, wrists or forearms

I have mild to moderate pain in my arms. This umbrella seems sturdy enough, but I couldn't find a comfortable way to hold it. It was heavy and put pressure on my fingers and wrists as I tried to grab the C-handle somewhere - at the base. it uncomfortably pinches my fingers and holding onto the high curve feels unbalanced. When I try to stay above the C I don't have enough girth to make the grip comfortable. I lose $6 trying to return a $16 umbrella so not worth returning. For reference, I am a woman with medium hands. If you had both hands free you might be up to the task, but how often does that happen? Also, I haven't tried it in the rain so it adds weight and pressure to hold it up. It's a long, heavy umbrella - the case comes with a shoulder strap, that should tell you it's heavy, but the problem with the case is that it's very difficult to put back on the umbrella after you've used it have taken it off. and i put it back on a new one. I expect the case will become unusable after a few uses. I subtract a star for each issue - the difficulty in designing the pen and cover.
