Review on 🚗 Black CURT 11276 Class 1 Trailer Hitch with 1-1/4-Inch Receiver, Compatibility for Select Toyota Prius by Mark Hart

Wrong size hitch. It will not fix my Prius. It was about 1/2 inch shorter. Curtis says it should be 38 inches wide; my two were 37.5" and 37.7". Others have complained and drilled new holes (in steel!). When I called Curtis I was told it might bend in transit. This may be due to the shipping carton having no packaging other than a wrapped piece of brown paper and therefore the flanges protruding through the side of the carton during the shipping process. Anyway, Curtis said to turn my car's steering wheel to the left, then tuck the end of the hitch under the wheel and lift it up for extra room, or use a bottle jack (which I don't have). I was able to scrape some paint off the clutch but I couldn't even build up 1/8" - they are heavy gauge steel! I can't believe they warped in transit as I couldn't modify them - I think they have a manufacturing issue. Also - note - I used one of the boxes to secure the unit by removing the box damaged in the process. Revain does not provide replacement boxes so please keep your box until you are sure it will fit if you purchase this.
