As with many other reviews, I've had several center speakers over the years, most recently the Polk Audio Signature Series S35. The Polk S35 is a great sounding and well built speaker, but it's large, too big to fit in our TV/audio system stand and obscures the view of the lower TV screen. The size of the Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000 fits our booth perfectly. BENEFITS: Incredibly clear, precise and detailed sound from surround sources (TV and movies). The compact size allows for multiple instillation options. even. Price, best compact center speaker for $200 or less. CONS: Very bright initial sound quality. It takes 48 hours or more of audio playback to "break in” to desired sound quality. Front subwoofer body contact points slide on smooth surfaces, no pads included. Bad music sound.
