Review on πŸ’Ž 7-Inch Delta Diamond Piranha Premium Tile Diamond Blade - Dry/Wet Cutting for Porcelain & Ceramic Tile, Stone - DM-7/8"-5/8" Arbor (7") by Michael Keitt

Decent blade, still chipped porcelain stoneware

I'm new to cutting porcelain stoneware so I don't know what the reference is. I bought a good quality 7 inch Diamondback hanging tile cutter to cut tiles for a bathroom renovation. For the first 10-20 cuts, I was surprised at how many chips there were. Probably 20 small chips along the 12 inch cut. The chips were small, around 1-2mm wide and/or long, but I expected a nice clean cut. Seemed to get a little better after 20 or more cuts. In total I've probably had 75-100 contractions and it hasn't gotten any worse. Once the tile is laid I have to admit that it's a bit difficult to see the chips. I tried making a few cuts at a 45 degree angle (with beveled edges) and it turned out to be with large chips. This was frustrating and forced me to use either convex tiles or aluminum profiles for all outside corners. I've never tried the Diamond Back saw blade that came with the saw, I thought it would be worse.

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
