The build quality of this corkscrew appears to be good as the weight and looks seem very good at first glance. Upon closer inspection, however, it is clinging to the same pivot as the screw is turned. I took a closer look at the corkscrew to see the extra metal showing where the two halves met. After turning around several times, I found pieces of metal in the box where the excess metal was erased. This leads me to believe that the construction was done cheaply and cheaply. China lacks quality control and uses cheaper assembly processes. That's why it's cheaper. This will be sent back before anything else breaks on this wine bottle opener. I was also surprised that there was no metal can opener. There is a bottle cap in the box.
