I've been wearing this on my cats for a few weeks now. First, the velcro is too long. I ended up cutting off 80% of the velcro. Three of my cats wear collars and none of them have taken them off, despite having a haircut and being quite active (and the youngest is a kitten!). As a result, the collar works like a detachable collar - the Velcro fastener tears when tension is applied. While elastic collars provide some security if cats get tangled easily, stretching may not be enough as they may not have enough time to pull their head out. Otherwise these are very comfortable collars. You hardly seem to notice them. Make sure the collar is snug - the first time I put it on too loose and my kitty got caught in it. Since then I've been putting it on more carefully and haven't had any problems.
