Review on 🚪 VISEMAN 36 Inch Under Door Draft Stopper-Twin Door Draft Blocker Guard: Effective, Dual Sided and Easy to Clean by Derrick Duck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very attractive cover and works better than expected.

This replaces an old door, originally from a much narrower door that was in use at times. The old one was a few inches too short on each side, but it still dampened some of the sound coming from my block into the hallway. Everyone in my building uses them to keep noise out of the lobby. I honestly doubted the wider one would dampen much more than the old one. I didn't realize that a 2-3 inch gap would let that much sound through. The main reason I bought a new one was because after 8 years of use in another house (as a windbreak, not for sound) the nylon coating on the old one was finally thin and thready at the bottom. So I figured I can get the right size now! The cover (brown tweed jersey) is much nicer and thicker than the old flimsy windbreaker nylon. It looks like it's going to be more durable and, to put it simply, very attractive, a bit more upscale. I was surprised that now that the door was closed to its full width, the sound was also muffled a lot more. I just use it by placing it right under the door. I didn't use glue. The door opens into my room above the LL Bean brand water carpet, see photo. I was a little concerned that it would catch on the carpet and make the door difficult to open, but so far this hasn't happened. I am happy with this purchase. Note. I'm not saying this element blocks noise to the "not at all audible" level. This is not a complete sound block. It drowned out the sounds of TV, music and conversations to a murmur once you're about 3ft from the door. Later I also added 1/8" thick neoprene foam around the inside of the door frame. Now that these two items are in place, you should stand right next to the door and listen carefully to hear the murmur. An effective combination for me.
