Review on πŸ”‹ Aquatop BREZA Battery Powered Air Pump with AC Power Failure Detector by Mari Hall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quiet and works well!

I will repeat the review after a power outage but for a test run I was pleasantly surprised. After reading some of the reviews where people might have complained that it was incredibly weak I thought well they have fifty five gallons of course it will be weak. My tanks are 10 gallon and 4-5 gallon. As I needed 2 I bought this and another brand thinking it was comparable and if one was weaker I would use it for 4+ gallons. This is an AQUATOP AC/DC air pump with a battery. Revain.com LLC $10.97. The other is a Penn-Plax Silent Air B11 battery operated air pump. You can see the "inner workings" of what makes it work. 2) Close it and both have a button on the outside to turn it on, for example if you want to test it or if you decide not to leave it. connected and would like to switch it on manually. 3) Both have a short air hose (one was 19 and the other 23 inches I think) and each had an air stone that was almost identical in shape/size. I used a T-connection and added the appropriate length of air hose to the one with the shorter hose. The other just expands to hang in the tank and I will tape it to the outside of the tank to keep it from popping out during use. This is working great at the moment as I'm working from home and expect to use it manually when the power goes out (as opposed to leaving it plugged in and turning it on automatically when the power goes out, which I'll set up when I know I can (it won't be around for long.) 4) Both have a power cord. This one, the Aquatop, had a shorter cord of about 3 feet (check the specs) and the other had a shorter cord of about 5 feet (check the specs again). Depending on where you want to go this can influence the choice, but there is always an extension that can be used. My setup worked great for both tanks. I have one for 10 gallons and the other for 4 gallons. Bubbles.6) I was surprised at how bubbly they both were! I don't have an air stone in either tank so the bubbles are small compared to what my 4 gallon foam filter produces (in a 10 liter Aqueon 30 power filter so no bubbles for comparison). But there's a TON of them coming out of these little rocks! The summer storms are in full swing and having lost power for a few hours early in the season I wouldn't be surprised if I need them! Although now with Murphy's Law I won't. But I can tell you that the peace of mind I will have is great with BOTH these items. Will be updated as needed and I've been using them for a long time. UPDATE: Used when I'm out of town for 4 days and I know there was a power outage (probably only for a few hours as the ice in the freezer just melted a bit) but both worked fine. I think the battery usage is good too as the batteries were NOT new but worked fine for a few more hours and still had some charge. BE CAREFUL when creating a drip loop. I didn't, and after removing the line and rock from the tank, I noticed there was water in the pipe. I didn't have space to install it properly so I'll have to figure it out next time. But the water parameters were fine when I got back, so there must have been water in there AFTER it stopped. However, there is one thing. When I took the air stone out of the whistle to dry the whistle, it rocked! I don't know which stone came with which setting, but they were almost identical. I just replace it with another stone. I don't know why it happened, the stone was still wet but I don't think it should have broken when I took it out of the tube. Still worth the money and great product. I just don't know what the hell is with the stone.
