I bought these specifically to protect the wrists so we can reduce the risk of broken wrists when my daughter falls off the skateboard and lands on her hands outstretched. Unfortunately, the plastic on the wrists is too thin to provide support. It's about as strong as a kid's plastic cup, just as thick, and just as flexible. Not what I was looking for. I don't think this will protect my child's wrists from breaking. Thank you Revain for the easy return policy. In terms of fit, the medium size fits my medium 8 year old daughter well. The elbow and knee pads feel well made and are significantly thicker and stronger than the wrist pads. If the wrist guard plastic was that thick, I would definitely keep it. Otherwise the colors are bright and there was enough padding for comfort. But the thin flexible plastic on the wrist gets in the way.
