Plugged into my Pi and nothing, no light, no usb, no ethernet like there was no power. However, I ran lsusb and it showed up as a dwc-otg device. So I added "dtoverlay=dwc-otg" to the config.txt file and now everything is fine! I was able to plug the DVD drive into the USB port with no problems and it played music through the hifiberry hat I added above for the Pi Nile. It is now possible to play CDs through Pi-Zero using the DAC converter on my amp. Sounds a lot better than the standard Pi output, all in a small package that I can slip in my shirt pocket (well, except for the power supplies that I have to lug around). Well!
