The product is worse than ever, disappointed with the purchase.

I purchased this adapter for connecting an external monitor imac 21.5 late 2022 to a MacBook Air M1 + Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 2 cable - one end to the adapter, the other to imac. After connecting, I press Command + F2 on the imac keyboard. And nothing happens. What can be done?
