Bought two as gifts expecting them to be small and cute and to fit in small gift bags. Well I didn't have time to look at the sizing and when it arrived I was surprised. OK, that's my fault. I still like them but I keep looking at this photo and in fact it's not quite the same as the photo. I think the photo has been changed a little or the design of the item has been changed a little. In the photo, the sides seem to form a thick border that forms a kind of fountain in the middle. But that's not the case. The sides are simply curved. This is a great cutting board. Just keep in mind that it's 13 inches by 9 inches. let me add something. The sides are curved to prevent cut food from falling and the bottom edge is almost flat for easy ejection of cut food. However, juices/liquids can run off this flatter end. I hope this clarifies what I mean when I say this doesn't create a "well" in the middle.
