I purchased the product specifically to measure the salinity (salt level) in my home water before treatment, after water softening and filtration - the product says it is suitable for this and is calibrated at the factory. When I tested pure distilled water it recorded exactly 0 salinity. For the salt levels on my other water, "city water" and softening/filtration, all set very high...after contacting our city water to discuss this - they came and checked.... Our readings were so different , that the device was 5-8 times higher than the real one, and therefore unusable. Our return process was easy thanks to Revain.
