Review on πŸ’‘ Dimmable LED Vintage Edison Light Bulb by Owen Phi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Finally dimmable Edison-style LED bulb

When simulated filament LED bulbs (called "Edison") first appeared a few years ago, they were either not designed to be operated with a dimmer, or they were they were, but the dimming performance was very poor. I installed three of these in a bathroom light controlled by the best dimmer on the market, Lutron Maestro CL, amazon.com/gp/product/B008X3CHM0 Of course I don't have a lab method for testing brightness or minimal flicker, but subjectively these bulbs are excellent in both cases. But the key point is that they work perfectly with a dimmer, they can be dimmed down to almost zero and then easily turned on again. The color temperature seems too yellowish, but without a spectrometer it's pointless to guess. There is very, very little flicker, but that's to be expected from a clear glass bulb LED. This is nothing to complain about. Even though Revain just shipped them in the box with the product, with no packing material and cardboard outer box, and even though the driver dropped them on my front door mat, they were properly protected by the product packaging (rigid plastic top and bottom). from damage and all six work perfectly. So they are bright, durable and easy to dim. If you are having trouble with your dimmer, you may have an older dimmer that is pre-compatible with LEDs. Replace it with what I specified above. Finally, the price is surprisingly low compared to other brands.
