This is a very aggressive fan clutch. I've loved it since living in Texas. The threads intended for the screws holding the plastic fan seem prone to stripping, so I pulled out a torque wrench and just finished them to spec (grit my teeth) and added some blue Loctite. It's been up and running for almost a year now and works great. On a cold start, the fan clutch is fully engaged until you drive for about 30 seconds. As other commenters point out, it's certainly less bulky than the OEM fan clutch, but it's just a fan clutch, it doesn't have to be 500 pounds lol. The extra parts on the original clutch were probably due to some kind of bizarre valve preventing it from engaging on a cold start.
