Review on Corsair QL Series Ql120 RGB LED Fan [Triple Pack] - Lighting Node Core Included by Sam Kriegshauser

Important if you already have LL120

They look and work great, just like the LL120 but with one big problem. They don't work very well if you attach them to a Corsair lighting assembly like a 4-6 fan. I did this and not all fans turned on the QL although the LL worked fine. That being said I got them all (3 QLs and 3 LLs) to run on just one node. For this I attached QLs as fans 1-3 on the node and completely removed the LL and only installed three fans on the node. I then reconnected all 3 LL fans one at a time while increasing the number of fans present in the software. With the LLs configured as fans 4-6 everything syncs up fine and works. However, LLs have a slightly different shade of blue than LLs. So if you want to mix and match fans, keep in mind that they may be facing away when they're next to each other. In the photos, the best fans are the Thermaltake trio. The bottom and rear fans are QL and the front fans are LL. Corsair fans have two cables while Thremaltake fans only have one. Thermaltake's setup and software are easier to use, so go for them if you're on the border between the Riing Trios and the QL 120. I'm including photos of the Riing and QL trio for you to compare. The Corsair center knot looks better, but Thermaltakes has a much simpler and cleaner setup.
