RGB as far as the eye can see

I have installed quite a few fans and previously thought that the RGB Corsair LL series was impressive, but after working with the QL series I have to say that there is no better RGB fan on the market today than Corsair's QL series fans. where to start First, the QL series has an incredible amount of LEDs. 34 to be exact. But that's not all. Unlike most RGB fans, these 34 LEDs are in 4 different zones. They have the same number of LEDs on each side, so it doesn't matter if it's set to inlet or…

Terrible quality control

I bought two of the three packs in white. With a fan, the outer LED rings (both top and bottom) don't work, so I only have the inner LED rings. I've tried everything to get it working, including hooking it up to a second fan hub controller. The other fan vibrates so violently that it looks like it's about to fall over. It's confusing and my setup looks awful. In a pack of 3, these fans sell for about $45 each. I've been building computers for over 15 years. I have used expensive fans ($20-25)…

Important if you already have LL120

They look and work great, just like the LL120 but with one big problem. They don't work very well if you attach them to a Corsair lighting assembly like a 4-6 fan. I did this and not all fans turned on the QL although the LL worked fine. That being said I got them all (3 QLs and 3 LLs) to run on just one node. For this I attached QLs as fans 1-3 on the node and completely removed the LL and only installed three fans on the node. I then reconnected all 3 LL fans one at a time while increasing…

Amazing RGB fans, though. There are a few things to note

I bought a total of 4 QL 120 fans, 1 set of 3 and one. The fans look amazing, nothing can take away from how great these fans are at working with their RGB magic. That being said, a few things to say: 1) The screw holes are unthreaded, meaning you're basically spending a lot more time and effort getting screws into the plastic than you intended. I had no idea so get ready for a little work. After the second fan, it became easier for me to insert screws, remove them, and then attach the fans to…

Virtually impossible to mount with the screws provided

So I was very happy to get these fans. I bought 5 in total. In terms of value for money they do exactly what they advertise and they are very pretty so the person buying them can decide how much it costs. My 2 star rating (was almost 1 star, had to wait to calm down) is directly related to how nearly impossible they are to install. I built a brand new computer and was able to fit it into the suitcase while it was empty. I thought it was going to be a pretty straight forward build, and it…

THE BEST RGB FAN ON THE MARKET. Still here? OK. Performance overview in the real world. First the negative aspects. 100% fans only. They suck like radiator fans. Very poor static pressure and pretty much useless at low revs. The mounting screws are useless. 6 fans and not a single fancy metal logo was even remotely centered on the fan side. Strange since it's all about the trinkets. Get ready to re-glue them all. You need to make a cover to cover the slots to use the heatsink. Again. It's all…

Beautiful but expensive

It's hard to recommend and not recommend QL120 fans at the same time. These fans are great, fairly quiet, and provide reliable airflow. But they are also damn expensive and cause cable clutter. Having a body that is 50% glass I can't really appreciate the looks. Both sides of these fans are literally charged with LEDs that shine bright and bright. Combined with Corsair's iCue software which for my money is the best LED control software on the market and that's the only way to achieve the look…
