I know this may not be what it was specifically designed for but we use them for our back deck when our pup accidentally comes to pee. It doesn't leak, which is fantastic because we live on the second floor and no longer have to worry about urine spilling onto our downstairs neighbor's porch. The only thing we're still trying to figure out (and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5) is the best way to clean them. I know the description explains the way to the oil, but that hasn't worked yet. When the sun hits them, they have a specific strong smell of urine, so we're still trying to figure it out. But overall this is definitely what we were looking for and would suggest if anyone is in the same boat as us.
