It's not an SLR, but it's quality. I can change many settings to get the best quality. The image from the camera looks fine on the screen, but I haven't checked if it's distorted on the computer. It comes with plenty of storage space and 2 batteries and is a pleasure to recharge. The fold-down screen is impressive and helpful. The pop-up flash and auto flash function are nice features. I haven't been able to mute the sound yet and it's very loud. 1 interesting feature is that the lens of my DSLR can be screwed on directly and does not need an adapter. You can get a telephoto or fisheye lens and take truly amazing pictures for about $100 less than the cheapest DSLR.
