This toy was a real disappointment. I bought this for my 18 month old son and wouldn't even think of giving it to him. The first thing that struck me upon opening the shipping carton was that while it is intended for boys and girls ages 1 to 4, there is a warning not to give it to anyone under the age of 3, as some do articles is the case. may pose a choking hazard. After looking at the toy myself, I found a few more issues. First on one of the hammers was a piece of glue that had dried and had a sharp edge. There was also glue on the toy itself - it wasn't a problem but it looked dirty and showed quality. There was a long, sharp-edged hole in the plywood frame from which splinters flew. Finally I took one of the xylophone hammers to raise the scale and all the notes were wrong. It wasn't pre-re mi, it was just a random assortment of sounds! The only thing he will learn from this is to hate music! Now that I live in Korea it will cost me more to return it than I paid for it but there is no value here. It goes straight into the trash can! Update: The seller just contacted me who tried their best to respond to this review. He seems very sincere and says he changed manufacturer to deliver better quality and is also willing to give the money back to us. I've upgraded my rating here from 1 star to 2 and will add more details as they become available. Update 2: The seller offered me a partial refund ($20) but only if I remove the feedback. I have stated in several emails that I would leave a review but would add details of the customer service I received. Since I was impressed that he contacted me, I figured that a possible review, while including my dissatisfaction with the product, would be positive based on my overall experience. However, their emails were limited to an attempt to bribe me into hiding my review of the toy. I have changed the rating back to the original 1 star.
