What an incredible product!

I have a very naughty cat who needs isolation from other household members. After seeing this product on the Jackson Galaxy Show, I decided to give it a try as Bob the cat needed some serious exercise to get over his salon fever. The first few times he wore it, he wasn't too keen. When it was taken off, the sound of the velcro "ripping" completely startled him, so I had several sessions where I would just sit in his room and rip the velcro over and over again. He's used to it. Once this cat realized that if he put his "jacket" on he could go outside for a walk, his whole demeanor changed. Now he meows excitedly when I take out the cat holster, pauses while I put it on and attach the retractable leash, and then walks out of the room like he's worn one his whole life! He didn't understand the walking rules, but all I had to do was just fill in the gap and not succumb to his convulsions. He got it. Now he knows that if the line no longer gives way, he cannot follow this path and is happy to keep going. Sometimes I have to drag him back inside because he won't come in, but the holster allows me to drag him without hurting him. Every day he makes it better and better. And of course, there's no harm in making treats when we're back in his room. UPDATE: 09/19/2016. Three years later, I still walk a holstered cat. He became a hit in the area and made many friends. He really looks forward to his evening "walks", which mostly consist of just lying in the garden and watching all his canine friends go for a walk. I try not to take him to yards where chemicals are used. That's just not good for a kitten. If he's walking down the street, his feet need to be washed when I bring him in. I've only had one escape case and that was a few months ago when I was in too much of a hurry to put the straps on and didn't zip the front securely. The funny thing is that even though Bob "ran away," he's so used to it that he'll only walk 50 feet away and then return when called. Bob and I really enjoyed ourselves at Holster Kitty.
