I don't ride horses so I don't know how they are suitable for that but the advertising that they are suitable for cycling is completely false (no padding on all) . They are also not suitable for driving or hiking. The reinforced surfaces are on the *outsides* of the gloves (like the pinky side), not where you touch the surfaces like in rock climbing. There is nothing on the front/palm of the glove that you might need for cycling/hiking/driving. I wouldn't recommend these gloves *at all* for any of these activities. They are very thin, with no reinforcements in all the places your hands touch, such as the steering wheel, and they seem to wear out very quickly.
