Review on πŸ’¦ OtterBox COMMUTER SERIES Case for Samsung Galaxy S9 - Ocean Way Aqua Sail/Aquifer: Retail Packaging by Adam Johnson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Really disappointing case

I've had several Galaxy S9 cases and this one disappointed me the most. I used (and went back to) the Otterbox Symmetry case. I found some lint getting into my ports, saw the commuter case on the Gold Box Special Edition and jumped at the chance. Ten minutes on the phone was enough to decide if it was a return. The inner lining is very soft and delicate to the touch. It didn't feel solid or protective. The outer hard cover is made of thin, cheap plastic that feels brittle and breaks easily. The Symmetry case had an overall structure that feels good in the hand. The hard parts of the Commuter are smooth and slippery. It fell out of my hand as I picked it up from the table. Covers for charging ports and headphones are part of the interior material. Once detached from the hard case, they worked quite well. The only thing this case beat the Symmetry was the ease with which the power button could be pressed. The Symmetry case's material is much stiffer, making it harder to press a button or double-tap to raise the camera. To be honest I don't think the Commuter case can match the durability of the Symmetry and it doesn't offer adequate protection. for my cell phone.

Pros
  • Compatible devices: Galaxy S9
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
