"Not dishwasher or microwave safe" should be a big red flag for a plain ceramic mug like this. Basically, this means that this mug is too delicate for regular use. I have never put it in the dishwasher or microwave and have only used this mug once a week on average. However, a large chunk of him broke off after only owning it for 6 months and using it a few dozen times at most. Now it's a paperweight/pencil holder (it's too small to actually hold pencils). If you like this design I would suggest ordering something similar for a large and durable mug.
