Cheap metal! I could break them with my teeth. The pins holding both pieces together were long and curved (as seen in the photo). The spring seemed to be loosening from the handle. But the worst thing is that they don't match completely (I used an equalizer to show that)! When I installed them on my son's bike, I noticed that there was no way to securely attach them. You need to remove the bolt from the tires and use it. That wouldn't be a problem, but when you try to tighten them, they move and don't sit flush. It worries me when someone is lying on it and their weight is swinging back and forth. It's not at all what I had in the 80's/90's.
