After my 20 year old vacuum finally gave up, I spent months researching vacuums online and finally bought this Kenmore because it had most of the features I was looking for. User reviews were almost always bad, but there were good reviews from Consumer Reports, so I took a chance. live and learn This is a heavy machine that is difficult to control. I'm a skinny 5ft 7in, 110lb, and while this vacuum isn't self-propelled, it literally tows me around the house. Pulling the vacuum cleaner towards you is not an easy task. If you have any injuries or mobility issues, this probably isn't the vacuum for you. Also, many other people have pointed out that it's very noisy. The suction hose is ridiculously short and the telescopic tube doesn't want to stay attached, even though it has a locking mechanism has to hold it in place. It's advertised as having a 10-foot range, but I'd be surprised if it really was more than half that. Despite what's on the list, unless you live in a hobbit house, you can't use it to clean ceiling fans. The different brush heads are angled so they can only be used while standing, so you cannot use them to clean under low furniture. Can't vacuum under beds This model should be good for cleaning picked up pet hair, but I ended up pulling out LOTS of dog hair where it had wrapped around the vacuum brushes and roller. Also, this machine is recommended for allergy sufferers, but I had to remove a significant amount of dust from the outside of the machine when I finished vacuuming, so I'm not sure how useful the HEPA filter or bag design is on this machine . indeed. Overall the purchase was disappointing and I definitely do not recommend this model.
