Review on πŸ”¦ Streamlight 88083 ProTac 2L-X USB 500 Lumens (Renewed) - Rechargeable Flashlight with USB Battery, Cord, Holster, and Box by Adam Jenkins

Great personal light!

I ordered the 2L-X USB on the recommendation of a very experienced safety expert and John Lovell of the Society of Warrior Poets - neither disappointed me. The Pro-Tac is literally flashy, yet small and light enough for a security officer to carry around with very little attention in everyday gear. The included holster as well as the included pocket clip give you many options on how best to carry it. The USB battery has already almost paid for itself instead of having to buy additional lithium batteries, which can become expensive when they are sold out. A big advantage of Streamlight over similar lights is that you can program it to do the main function you want, rather than cycle through the 3 or 4 bright/low strobe functions that others ask you to do. do it every time you use them, although the 2L-X has those options too. I chose the 'Bright no strobe' setting and it fires every time I press the button which is recessed into the back cover to avoid accidental firing. The lens frame has a slim profile, not much larger than the main tube, not much larger than the Surefire (which I also reviewed), and it helps a lot when carried in a bag. The 500 lumen beam makes the 2L-X the perfect non-lethal defense for those who can't carry a more obvious 'weapon'. In an encounter, you can temporarily blind the attacker, giving you the option to move to the side or run away without being seen, or risk something like pepper spray returning to the user. It is also difficult to generate resistance to such bright light. It can also be used as a kubotan-like bludgeoning weapon, and has serrated cutouts on either end that could be "DNA harvesters" if later lawsuits are a possibility. Pro-Tac 2lX-X USB - You will not be disappointed.
