I wanted some cheap calipers to use on the transfer stand so I wouldn't have to constantly buy good calipers from the office or store. I was looking for cheap calipers. cheap. I paid ten bucks more for iGaging calipers. They still cost almost a quarter of what my good calipers cost. I would say they are a lot more than a quarter of the quality. They felt a bit stiff and hard at first, but that almost went away after about a minute. They have all the features of my expensive calipers and I love the large LCD display on the iGaging calipers. They are very easy to read quickly, even in low light, even with my old eyes. The buttons work well, tactile sensations are pleasant. There was nothing unusual about the simple user interface. Basically, they work just like expensive brake calipers. I ran a few quick tests. I reset the caliper. I checked the measurements against my good calipers for reference (see pics) and they matched exactly. I ran the calipers back and forth and the zero reliably returned to zero and the test measurements were accurately repeated so they appear reliable and reproducible. In general, I'm impressed! For the money I don't see better calipers than these.
