The inner edges appear very sharp, probably not suitable for living animals. I use it in a snow globe, so it's no problem other than reversing when assembling the globe. I've worked in several plastic injection molding factories and it took me at least 5 minutes to clean the edges of each piece myself with a dremel (this resin seems brittle and cracks easily), which I expect to double. Price. In fact, mine had the tallest middle sheet snapped off with no sign of a broken piece in the shipping box. I should probably beat the score more because I was damaged, but to fit the 6 inch globe I bought I had to cut 3 more sheets; I had to break it more anyway, so there's no point in ruining the score. at the local pet store if you want it intact and whole, mine doesn't list it for much more than here.
