Like many plastics it can break if not thick enough. This item arrived broken on the W funnel but as my guppies were already in labor I chose not to return it. Now that we've had the product for about 2 months, I feel like I can review it a little better. ADVANTAGES * The hatchery is generally reliable and gets the job done. * Ultra-thin insulation gaps keep the brood in the hatchery as intended. * Funnel W increases the survival rate of juvenile fish (guppy babies). (Note: the crack in the W funnel we got didn't seem to have gotten bigger.) * Suction cups are heavily VS. The feeding holes only cover the outer two "rooms" when both baffles are in, so you still have a gap for juvenile fish to lodge in order to remove the lid to feed the middle room dweller. Unfortunately, my mother guppies don't get along with each other in such a small space, so I can only accommodate one guppy in each room. Room. There are also no crevices in the bottom to reduce debris build-up, but I don't know if such crevices can be designed to reduce debris build-up and still keep the juveniles safe in the hatchery.
