Review on Feedback Sports Sprint Work Stand by Dan Venegas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The durable portable repair stand outperforms bike racks made with thin-walled aluminum and non-round carbon tubes.

This is a surprisingly good work stand. As for bike tools I use a lot, I usually just buy Park - they are functional, durable, well designed, easy to use and incredibly cheap. However, upstart Feedback Sports has done a great job with this stand. First the background story: The thin-walled aluminum and the out-of-round carbon tubes made my old clamp stand obsolete - to clamp the bike tight enough so that it doesn't rock. There is a risk of the pipes being crushed. And falling out of less-tight clips comes with its own risk of repairs or numbers that could end up in the line of fire. This stand secures the bike to the front fork like a roof rack. It can accommodate different dropout sizes. This is the only fixed mount point; The rest of the bike rests on the bottom bracket, which is secured between two strong plastic rails. The stand is very durable. With my legs outstretched, my bike doesn't tip over, no matter where it is on the horizontal bar. The position of the bike can be adjusted in many ways. The outrigger itself can slide to balance the bike on the central vertical support. The fork mount and backing plate slide over the boom. The boom can be raised or lowered to a comfortable position whether you are sitting or standing to work. The bicycle can be stationary or rotate freely about a vertical axis. (Assembly Note: If the boom is pivoted, you will need to slide the wedge guide over the head of the bolt [indicated as "bolt" in the directions). To do this, lower the eccentric, push the head of the bolt up and insert the hole on the slot guide under the boom. Once the bolt is in the guide, use the eccentric to tighten it.) The stand is portable. If you fold the eccentric down, the boom can slide over the stop bolt until it can fold down parallel to the center column. fold legs. Everything comes in neat, handy packaging that you can secure with a bungee cord or stow in an optional carry case. The usual compromise between portability and robustness seems to have been tricked. This stand is easy to take to cross-country races for repairs and cleaning. Finally, the finish is surprisingly elegant. I wasn't looking for it and don't particularly appreciate it, but I'm surprised at how nice the matte red aluminum looks. Maybe I'll treat it differently when it gets dirty. But first: wow!
