Review on ๐Ÿพ 1.5" Martingale Dog Collar - Adjustable, Strong, and Comfy - Ideal for Training - Nylon - Made in USA by If It Barks by Sheila King

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best martingale collar I have ever tried! Super adjustable sizes!

I always have to use Martingales on my Border Collie because it tends to slip out of any regular collar (and of course any harness because it's easy for a dog to pull out) and it is one of the best I've ever had! It's really well made, made of nice, durable nylon fabric (maybe real nylon?). It has metal hardware to hang your dog tag separate from where you attach the leash which I love and the color is bright and pretty (I have pink bubblegum). 50 pounds She has a pretty average neck for a dog her size (16 inches) but her head is tiny! I have it in medium size and it is perfect! It stretches to full size (bigger than even the biggest dog needs) so I had to pull it down to make it much smaller but it was very very easy to make and I really enjoyed just the stretched, draped, oversized version around my neck and just tightened it until it fit perfectly. The fact that the collars are adjustable and have so much room to make them bigger or smaller (seriously, you can change them to around 8 inches) also means you honestly only have to approach the big dog's neck, and that would probably fit hahaha . So it's okay if you don't have anything to measure your dog or you get this as a gift for a dog owner and you can't measure the dog (etc.). Anything that makes a mistake is okay in my book! Rzhunimagu! Thanks to the martingale effect, the collar also contracts about 3-5 inches when tightened, which is a really good amount as it allows you to hold the collar looser and therefore more comfortable (suitable for itchy dogs with sensitive skin). Shed problems like mine!), plus peace of mind that if the dog tries to slip out while you're walking it, it'll be tight and won't budge! It also returns to its normal size (that is, if you're on the leash and the dog doesn't "twitch" when you walk, it returns to its free comfortable size), which is so nice because I have a martingale in it he had past that tugged at skin at just the right time but wouldn't let go so I had to reach over and grab my distracted dog to fix it so she wouldn't choke or irritate her throat. So far, this one hasn't done it at all, which I've never seen (even those who haven't done badly still occasionally do, in my experience, but not that far). just like the picture, in my experience the color is definitely lifelike (pink bubblegum and I looked at the picture on my iPhone) and comes in a plastic box with plastic ties around it that you need to cut with scissors or a knife (or I mean I'm sure you could gnaw it off some other way lol but the strings are pretty strong so it's probably best to get a sharp knife or scissors lol). Unpacking took only 30 seconds. I have a Prime so can't say much about shipping, but FYI it *really* arrived two days after I ordered it. I highly recommend it to all large dog owners. , and especially for those who have Houdini dogs who can dodge any collar or harness if they get scared of something while walking and run away (now unbranded since they escaped their collar. Ditto for worst!)! It looks really attractive, is easy to see on a dog, and works better than any other martingale I've used. I was wary of wasting money as I'm usually the type who "finds the best deal while there are still good reviews" but it's definitely worth every penny and I'm sure it will last just as long. Also, knowing he's safe and rest assured that my dog won't be able to remove the collar during a walk is priceless anyway, no matter who's leading him. In general, the price corresponds to the quality of the goods. I have included a photo of my dog if you would like to compare to your dog's size. There's no photo of the collar on it yet, but I'll add it when I remember. Otherwise - just know I also like how thick it is because it's very noticeable which is especially great if you have a long haired dog like my border because collars get lost easily in their fur lol. I like her collar to be visible so god forbid if she ever comes out and runs away people who see her will know she is a pet even if they see her from afar and hopefully try to snag her help and bring them back. me! People probably won't run after a stray dog, but almost everyone (except those who are afraid of dogs) will try to catch a running dog that's near a visible collar and tag. 5/5! I promise you will be happy with this collar ESPECIALLY for the way it adjusts which I have never seen in a martingale collar. A must have for Houdini dogs or large dogs that need a large, visible and comfortable collar that doesn't even need to be pressed lightly against the skin!
